I needed a different light for one of our bedrooms. I decided on a drum light as the ceiling is not very high in this room.

After sending a few back and not being able to find one I really liked I decided to paint an old one I’d kept hold of from years ago.

Here’s a pic from the “Oh no, what am I doing phase…”

This was such a hard job. I almost abandoned it several times. It took ages and as I painted one part of the circle I kept messing up other bits.

I should have primed it first as the first few coats of matt paint sunk straight through the linen and showed the dark navy beneath. 😤

I decided to stop trying to rush it and did some other projects in between and then….

After a week …..

I got there 🎇🎆🎇

I’m pleased I stuck with it but am glad I can get on with finishing my mirror now 😌

Here’s the mirror Rich & I are making….

I need to mitre the corners of a frame for it and paint them dark gold then add brass glass screw caps and it’s ready for hanging.

Will post pic soon x
