Hey art lovers!
Make time to get over to Charleston at The Lewes Art Centre for a brilliantly curated and beautiful exhibition. It’s a modern collection of over 80 paintings, the care and evolution of which has been passed between three lovers: Eddie Sackville-West, Eaerdley Knollys and Matteo Radev. There’s a great range of art on display here from pointillism to abstract and considering the collection has evolved through the lives of 3 owners connected by romance there’s is a commonality of inimitable style present in all pieces more expected from a collection by one individual. It features Picassos, works by Graham Sutherland and Duncan Grant of Bloomsbury fame amongst others.

The story of how the collection changed hands is as intriguing as the art itself and I won’t say anymore so you can discover its evolution yourself, just to say it’s a story of survival, romance and supportive friendship which endured during an age of ignorance.
The exhibition’s content is just the right length to make it worth the visit but not too much that you get viewing fatigue. It’s an interesting and stylish collection of art.
It doesn’t disappoint so off you plop!
